Steve Bannon's Very Weird and Disturbing Political Views

The racist Breitbart editor Steve Bannon, who is THE key advisor for Trump.

All quotes are from here.

So, Bannon, who was raised in a very traditional Catholic family, who went to a right-wing Catholic military high school and has been steeped in this right-wing, Western sieve curriculum, believes, as Guénon does, that we are entering a dark age, that the rise of the Enlightenment in the 1500s has led us toward apocalypse, and that if he can’t prop up traditional values and do what Guénon had hoped to do, which was to, quote, "restore to the West a traditional civilization," then mankind is going to be destroyed. And that is his animating belief.
WTF is a "traditional civilization"??? The Dark Ages? I'm sure he thinks that a primordial belief in religion is part of that, but that is just idiotic. Why would ANYONE want to go back into that?

This next part is just completely nuts:
What all three of these men have, though, in common is the belief in—at the heart of Guénon’s religion was the belief in the Hindu concept of cyclical time, the idea that the world passes through set stages. And Evola believed, as Bannon does, as Guénon does, that we are in what the Hindus call the Kali Yuga, a 6,000-year-long dark age in which man’s connection to God and the transcendent is wholly forgotten.
Again, just fucking nuts:
Bannon has come to this through a kind of populist, hard-right politics, where, through Breitbart and some of these affiliated organizations, he’s tried to not only take over American politics, but look at what he’s doing in places like the European Union. He’s trying to destroy what he would call these globalist edifices, which he believes is a manifestation of the rise of modernity and something that needs to be destroyed to pull us back to a pre-Enlightenment era.

The "Flight 175" Fuselage Fragment on WTC5

I analyzed this in 2008, and you can see in the image I found, it was clearly two pieces, as this guy shows again, recently.

Meaning of course, the part may well have been (and probably was) planted.

There's also this weird piece, which could be from flight 11 but isn't clearly from either flight.

The biggest mystery WTC plane debris is still this one.

I haven't seen anyone analyze either of these last two pieces.

More 9/11 Sites Are Disappearing

Sad to see Webfairy's site gone, Killtown's site gone, 911review.org gone, etc.

Thankfully blogs persist for the most part.

Purchased websites just don't last if the owner stops paying or gives up, for whatever reason.

I hope the Killtown data survives somewhere at least, I liked his work.  Webfairy was more unreliable and made more extreme claims, though she had some useful videos. I think she used to actually host Killtown's work as a backup too, but that's obviously gone now.

And of course, there are so many 9/11 videos that are gone from Youtube, for whatever reason.

Tragic.

Similarities between the Election of Trump and the 9/11 Attacks

1) Trump presidency and 9/11-- both major national and international crises, upending traditional politics, creation of paranoid and dizzying political environments in Washington DC

2) both boondoggles for corporate news media, rapid series of breaking news, normal progress of time is hard to gauge, things moving both faster and more slowly than normal (time contraction and dilation)

3) both have crude, relatively ignorant Republican presidents (GW Bush and Trump) pushing far right agendas

4) both have treasonous aspects (9/11 with Israel, Trump with Russia)

5) multiple bizarre, hard to believe aspects of both 9/11 and Trump presidency; incredible coincidences

6) the in-your-face, incredible brazenness of the Trump campaigns lies, obnxiousness and treason, and the incredible brazen lie of the official 9/11 story -- both are incredible insults to the intellect

7) Both still lead to endless bombings and war in Iraq ...

8) Dates: terror attacks on 9/11, Trump declared winner of election on 11/9

Finally--9/11 & al Qaeda vs Trump & ISIS.

In other words, if the GWB administration spawned "al Qaeda",  a terror group that plotted fiendishly clever terror plots, the Trump administration is like ISIS: a more blunt, stupid and evil terror group.

The Media "Loves" Trump and His Reality Show Presidency

As disastrous as the Trump presidency is in every possible way, he is a ratings gold-mine for the corporate controlled news media, particularly cable news channels like CNN and MSNBC. The non-stop scandal is just perfect for attracting viewers. Even though Trump constantly derides the media as fake news, his bizarre and treasonous actions are perfect for the media. They thrive on his idiocy and madness-- JUST AS THEY DID IN THE CAMPAIGN. The corporate media love of spectacle was a big reason why Trump won.

As I've noted here before, the media is a real problem for the US in a complicated way. Trump is right that the media is the enemy of the people, but ONLY IN THE SENSE THAT THEY BROUGHT US TRUMP IN THE FIRST PLACE!

A free press is still ABSOLUTELY necessary for our country to have a chance of remaining free from outright authoritarianism/fascism/dictatorship/martial law, but the corporate media and their greed is still a real problem for us.

At the same time-- the Trump presidency is almost like a scripted reality TV show, isn't it? It's like there couldn't be a more perfect vehicle for the news media than Trump's madness, and even though Trump is clueless about so much real world, I'm sure he knows the media loves his madness. How much of his insanity is an act? Hard to know. Is there a conspiracy between Trump and the corporate media to keep the insanity going? I doubt there is any firm agreement, but maybe a tacit agreement.

There is also a seriously fake aspect to this presidency. His constant lies seek to create a fake reality. He does most things by executive order, which might sound important, but have limited real effect on laws and policies. He makes claims about accomplishments that are just lies or have nothing to do with what he's directly done. Significantly he made a big deal about withdrawing from the Paris climate accords. However, this means nothing since 1) the US is still obligated to stay in the deal another 4 years no matter what he says, 2) the deal is non-binding and the vast majority of his complaints about the deal were nonsense. You could call him a Potemkin president, since as bad as he is, his incompetence and inexperience have kept him from the doing worse.

But this President Trump reality show cannot go on too long. In the big picture, it is too real and too destructive, too chaotic and too mind-boggling, too maddening and insulting. There are real world consequences for people's lives. We need the season finale to this crazy show soon.

Note, how much Trump distorts reality-- new limits of the law are being tested every day. He is trying to see if he can pardon himself, which surprisingly is unclear in the constitution, as is the question of whether the president can be criminally indicted.

The Abominable, Evil Trump Presidency Continues

He is still a complete idiot and ignoramus, who can barely talk in coherent sentences. It's quite shocking for any sentient being, that this man is the "most powerful person in the world".

He is still a traitor with his inexplicable actions towards Putin, and the clear collusion of his campaign with Russia in the election.

His policies are still horrible, cruel, sick right-wing policies that will not help the people who elected him. In particular, he is appallingly ignorant on how health insurance works and how bad the GOP healthcare plan is.

His "voter integrity project" is a transparent scam to suppress minority votes, and is led by the racist Kris Kobach.

He has incredibly shady ties to the Russian mob and oligarchs, which no doubt tie into the whole collusion with Russia during the campaign.

Finally, the active denial of climate change by his administration deeply threatens the future of humans on earth.

His policies are all truly evil, he is shitting on the country.  But to be fair, Trump is a reflection of the standard Republican line on all these issues.

The GOP and their support of the greedy conservative oligarchy is the major political problem the US faces, and is a major threat to the planet.

The Hijacked Presidency

This piece by Charles Blow is a couple weeks old but just a great summary of our current situation as long as Trump is president:
Every now and then we are going to have to do this: Step back from the daily onslaughts of insanity emanating from Donald Trump’s parasitic presidency and remind ourselves of the obscenity of it all, registering its magnitude in its full, devastating truth.
There is something insidious and corrosive about trying to evaluate the severity of every offense, trying to give each an individual grade on the scale of absurdity.
Trump himself is the offense.
Everything that springs from him, every person who supports him, every staffer who shields him, every legislator who defends him, is an offense. Every partisan who uses him — against all he or she has ever claimed to champion — to advance a political agenda and, in so doing, places party over country, is an offense.
We must remind ourselves that Trump’s very presence in the White House defiles it and the institution of the presidency. Rather than rising to the honor of the office, Trump has lowered the office with his whiny, fragile, vindictive pettiness. The presidency has been hijacked.
Last week, when Donald Trump attacked two MSNBC hosts, people were aghast. The condemnation came quickly and from all quarters. But his words shouldn’t have shocked. His tweet was just another pebble on a mountain of vulgarities.
This act of coarseness was in fact an act of continuity. Trump was being Trump: the grossest of the gross, a profanity against propriety. This latest episode is simply part of a body of work demonstrating the man’s utter contempt for decency.
We all know what it will add up to: nothing. Republicans have bound themselves up with Trump. His fate is their fate. They have surrendered any moral authority to which they once laid claim — rightly or not. If Trump goes down, they all do.
It’s all quite odd, this moral impotence, this cowering before the belligerent, would-be king. A madman and his legislative minions are holding America hostage.
There are no new words to express it; there is no new and novel way to catalog it. It is what it is and has been from day one: The most extraordinary and profound electoral mistake America has made in our lifetimes and possibly ever.

Putin's Puppet So Eager to Please His Master

This is obscene and outrageous:
Donald Trump has told White House aides to come up with possible concessions to offer as bargaining chips in his planned meeting next week with Vladimir Putin, according to two former officials familiar with the preparations. National security council staff have been tasked with proposing “deliverables” for the first Trump-Putin encounter, including the return of two diplomatic compounds Russians were ordered to vacate by the Obama administration in response to Moscow’s interference in the 2016 election, the former officials said. It is not clear what Putin would be asked to give in return.

Anti-Intellectualism on the Rise

The last employees departed from the science division of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy last week, leaving the division completely unstaffed, according to a Friday report by CBS News.
CBS News reported, citing unnamed sources, that the division was unstaffed as of Friday, but noted the White House may assign the policy subjects previously handled by the division to other staff within the office.
Eleanor Celeste, formerly the office’s assistant director for biomedical and forensic sciences, tweeted a farewell on Friday.

Some history:

"The head of the NRA said: "academic elites, political elites, and media elites. These are America’s greatest domestic threats".
This should trouble you - especially the academic elites part - as most horrible authoritarian governments begin by targeting intellectuals.
Mao bragged, "Emperor Shih Huang of the China Dynasty.. had buried alive 460 scholars only, but we have buried alive 46,000 scholars." The Khmer Rouge murdered anyone who wore eyeglasses on the assumption that they could read and were an intellectual. Franco was violently anti-intellectual, which is why your favorite writers were all off fighting the Spanish civil war. The Night of the Long Batons where libraries were burnt, and academics ousted from housing ushered in Onganía's dictatorship in Argentina. And I forgot the best one of all - "When I hear the word culture I reach for my revolver." (By Nazi playwright Hanns Johst.) ... Lenin's regime began by exiling 220 prominent intellectuals on "philosopher's ships."
